It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Mathematics, Islamia College Peshawar. The history of the Department of Mathematics is as old as the college itself. The department is vibrant, with a growing reputation in research and graduate and undergraduate education, and a tradition of excellence in intermediate education. 

Mathematics is an indispensable tool in the physical sciences, engineering and commerce, and central to the social sciences and humanities. The scope of mathematics is ever on the rise.

The department is well equipped with teaching and research facilities. The department offers BS(4-year), M.Phil and Ph.D programmes in mathematics as well as the intermediate level. We currently have over 156 undergraduate students, 94 graduate (M.Phil/Ph.D) students out of which 7 scholars have been awarded M.Phil degrees and 3 scholars have been awarded Ph.D degrees. We have a well qualified faculty of 15 members, including 5 PhD, 5 MPhil teachers and the rest are enrolled in MPhil / PhD programmes..
