HEC’s Review panel visits Islamia College Peshawar for Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) - Nov. 29-30, Dec. 01, 2022

A Review Panel of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) visited the Islamia College Peshawar (ICP) on November 29-30, December 01, 2022 for the Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) of the University. The panel was headed by Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmad Shaikh, Dean, NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi. Other members of the panel included Prof. Dr. Ayaz Arif Director QEC, The University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Dr. Shahzad Ahmad, Director QEC, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering & Technology, Multan, Dr. Farrukh Idrees, Director QEC, National Defense University, Islamabad, Dr. Saima Baig, Director QEC, Sindh Madressatul Islam University, Karachi & Mr. Agha Muhammad Raza, Coordinator, Quality Assurance Agency, (QAA), HEC, Islamabad.

Main purpose of this visit was to evaluate the performance of the University as per eleven standards of IPE manual of the QAA, HEC and the University Portfolio Report (UPR) prepared by the QEC.

During the three-day visit, on day first, the panel was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Gul Majid Khan, Vice-Chancellor, ICP and other top management of the University. After a brief meeting with the Vice-Chancellor, the panel reviewed the University Portfolio Report (UPR) submitted to HEC and supporting documentary evidences presented by the QEC at ICP.

On second day, the panel held meetings with the Undergraduate, Graduate & Post-Graduate Students, Faculty, Heads of Departments and Sectional Heads. The panel also visited the campus to see the Institutional Infrastructure and facilities such as classrooms, faculty offices, laboratories, library, canteens/cafeterias and other facilities of the University.

 

On third day, the panel held exit meeting with the Vice-Chancellor, ICP which was also attended by Prof. Dr. Izhar Ahmad, Director QEC and Dr. Qasim Mansoor Jalali, Registrar of the University. The panel shared their findings and salient features of their visit with the Vice-Chancellor.
