Islamia College Peshawar Successfully Holds 8th Convocation

Islamia College Peshawar marked a momentous occasion with the successful commencement of its 8th Convocation on December 23, 2023. The convocation, which took place at the college main cricket ground, was a culmination of the academic achievements of the graduating class across various disciplines.

Exceptional students received 115 gold medals for their outstanding academic achievements. The convocation awarded degrees to 850 graduates, recognizing their years of dedicated study and hard work.

35 Gold Medals were presented to Faculty members who supervised PhD Graduates

The breakdown of degree holders is as follows:

  • Male Graduates: 350
  • Female Graduates: 500
  • Ph.D. Graduates: 40
  • M.Phil. Graduates: 80
  • BS/MA/MSc/LLB Graduates: 730
  • Total Departments: 22
  • Faculties: 5

The guests included Caretaker Minister for Higher Education, Dr Qasim Jan, who was the chief guest, and the Vice Chancellor of Islamia College University, Professor Dr Gul Majid Khan.

Former Vice Chancellors of Islamia College Peshawar and sister universities and other dignitaries were present.

The chief guest, Dr Qasim Jan, said visiting the Islamia College Peshawar refreshed his fond memories, as he himself had been a student at this historic institution.

Dr Qasim Jan said Islamia College had played a role in the progress of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the entire country, serving as a key player in nurturing diverse talents.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Gul Majid Khan, stated that all graduates should be grateful to their parents for helping them achieve this milestone. He assured the graduates that the doors of Islamia College will always be open to their beloved alumni. Furthermore, he advised the graduates to continue their hard work and play a positive role in their respective societies.
