Prof. Dr. Ahmad Ur Rahman Saljoqi, Vice Chancellor, Islamia College Peshawar visited Charsadda today to meet Dr. Azmat Ullah Khan Wazir, Deputy Commissioner Charsadda.
The Deputy Commissioner warmly welcomed the worthy Vice Chancellor. A constructive and thoughtful discussion was held on issues relating to university properties in Charsadda.
The Vice Chancellor not only appreciated but also sincerely thanked the Deputy Commissioner for listening to the College’s concerns and for his commitment to resolving these issues in a befitting manner. He also presented the grave financial situation of the University, stressing that these matters must be handled wisely and in the larger interest of both the institution and the public.
He emphasized that if the matters are resolved in the required manner, it would bring much-needed relief, allowing the University to focus on academic and research excellence. The Vice Chancellor remarked that the administration is striving to enhance its revenue and is leaving no stone unturned, as it is a matter of survival for the institution.
After the meeting, the Vice Chancellor and his team visited the commercial properties situated in Charsadda Bazar and issued on-the-spot directions to the Registrar, Islamia College Peshawar, for taking further steps to boost revenue from these properties.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the Vice Chancellor of his full cooperation and pledged to amicably resolve the deadlock in negotiations with the tenants.
