The Department of Political Science, Islamia College Peshawar held a One-Day Anti-Drug Awareness Seminar in collaboration with Anti-Narcotics Force Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in historical Roose Keppel Hall. Hafiz Abdul Qadoos opened the seminar by reciting Quranic verses. Then National Anthem was played. Muhammad Shakeel performed as stage secretary. Dr. Amir Ullah Khan, Chairman, Department of Political Science, Islmia College Peshawar welcomed the official of ANF on behalf of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahmad Ur Rehman Saljoqi, faculty members and students of the university. He highlighted the various anti-drug legislations of the university. He also highlighted that he first introduced the idea of ‘Smoking-Free Campus Initiative’ in academia in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and periodically organizes such seminars for the best interests of students and society. He highlighted the role of students of Pakistan Movement. Now this is right time that they should play their role in building of Pakistan. He stated that this also the vision of the current Vice-Chancellor of the University. Later on, Deputy Director Zafar of ANF delivered a comprehensive lecture on role ANF and its efforts for controlling the menace of drugs in the society. A large number of students and faculty members participated in the seminar. The students applauded the University Administration and Dr. Amir Ullah Khan for organising such useful seminar for them. They also expressed their commitment to play their role in making the society drug-free by joining hands with the government and its institution.
