Islamia College Peshawar (ICP) and the OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (OIC_COMSTECH) have entered into a partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 19, 2025.
The agreement, signed by H.E. Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General OIC-COMSTECH, and Prof. Dr. Ahmad-ur-Rehman Saljoqi, Vice Chancellor of ICP, is designed to significantly advance scientific and technological collaboration within the Islamic world.
This partnership aligns with OIC-COMSTECH's core mandate to enhance the capabilities of OIC Member States through shared knowledge and resources.
The comprehensive MoU outlines a framework for cooperation in critical areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Genomics, Data Sciences, Biotechnology, climate change and material sciences. The key initiatives include facilitating the exchange of students and faculty, organizing joint workshops and conferences. Furthermore, Islamia College Peshawar will benefit from Associate Membership in the COMSTECH Consortium of Excellence (CCoE) and gain access to the OIC-COMSTECH Distinguished Scholars Programme, which will bring international experts to its campus.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone for both institutions, promising to foster a vibrant culture of research and innovation.
